About On Course
On
Course is a bimonthly Webzine and quarterly print magazine
for teens. Each issue focuses on a basic theme, which is
addressed from various angles to capture and hold teens'
attention. Print articles run 800 words or less. We directly
address the real issues teens face, emphasizing a biblical
approach.

Unsolicited Manuscripts Policy
On
Course evaluates manuscripts to determine if you, as
a writer, fit our magazine. We will not print them-- we do not purchase unsolicited articles.
Article assignments go to writers listed in our Writer's
File and focus on scheduled topics. If we approve you for
our Writers File, we will also issue you a password for
Writers Only, where we post these themes.
Writing style/Mechanics
Type
and double-space your articles. Write in a style that teens
will read using a conversational tone, short sentences and
straightforward concepts. Give the version of the Bible
you use when quoting Scripture. In order to write
for On Course, you must meet OC's deadlines. Should we add you to our Writers
File, you should also keep us informed of any changes to
your contact information. Failure to do so can delay your
compensation or cause us to use another writer altogether.
Payment
Payment for assigned stories is $40 for columns, $80 for two-page features and $15 for sidebars/reviews for first rights and electronic rights to assigned feature and fiction stories. Payment for assigned Web-only features is $30 per article. This includes electronic reproduction rights for the On Course Web site. Payment information updated 5-22-08 and subject to change.
